Sunday 9/6 Central VA ride (Hatton Ferry)

Lets roll!!

I'm thinking we could meet up at 8AM at this Citgo on Rt 6

The loose route plan would be route 6 W to Scottsville for a Hatton Ferry attempt. Hatton Ferry is last remaining poled ferry in the US and it will likely be closed for good very soon. (That's right - VA is trying to fix the $2.6 billion budget short fall by closing a ferry that costs $20k / year to operate.) I say "attempt" because the water level is rarely high/low enough for them to run the ferry. This would mark my 3rd attempt after 2 previous unsuccessful ones. Either way we could head SW from there on 626 till we hit the imfamous rt 56. We would take 56 to the Blue Ridge parkwy, Shoot north on the parkway and make our back east however we see fit. I'll probably hop on the super slab for a quick return home.

Who's in?

Re: Sunday 9/6 Central VA ride (Hatton Ferry)

I got a message from Oblinox.. he's out.

Still in, Jman? I can't find any diners in that area on Rt. 6. Satterwhites on Broad is an option, but that's a little out of the way (assuming you're south of the James - is that right?)

Satterwhites
116 Broad Street Rd, Manakin Sabot, VA‎ - (804) 784-1994

Any other ideas?
